2025. Built Narratives’ design for a new-build care home in Bedfordshire is now with the local authority, seeking their advice as to its acceptability in principle. The building, within a market town, replaces a series of existing dilapidated buildings. The design seeks to create a building which matches the scale of nearby buildings and is set-back from the main road. The care home will provide 67 ensuite bedrooms divided into five care groups across 2.5 storeys. The building will create new gardens around its perimeter, allowing all ground floor residents direct access to outdoor space. On the first and second floors, care groups can access shared terraces accessed from day spaces.
